“Chicago Justice” fans probably enjoyed seeing a familiar face in tonight’s episode of “Law & Order: SVU” Season 20 Episode 7. That’s right, Gary Basaraba is reprising his role as William O'Boyle and the defense attorney is in New York.
“He was a tough opponent for Peter Stone (Philip Winchester) during the one and only season of Chicago Justice, and now he’s come to New York for another round,” Brittany Frederick wrote in her piece on the Dick Wolf fan website One Chicago Center before the episode aired. That makes him the second Chicago Justice character to show up during SVU season 20, after Carl Weathers reprised his role as State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies in ‘Zero Tolerance.’ He’s also the second defense attorney to come over from that series; Christopher Wiehl previously also reprised his role in last season’s ‘Service.’”
Aside from O'Boyle, “Law & Order: SVU” Season 20 Episode 7 also guest stars Sandrine Holt as Lisa Abernathy, Soleidy Mendez as Delores Alverez, Johanna Tolentino as Ximena, and Scott Bryce as Bill Schwartz. Of course, it should be noted that O'Boyle only plays a minor role in the episode since the focus is on Sasha Alexander’s character Anne Mill.
Alexander shines as Anne in “Law & Order: SVU” Season 20 Episode 7 as the character had to deal with the murder of her husband and children. However, it is later revealed that Anne killed her family herself after she confessed to Lieutenant Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). Apparently, she has been stealing money from her clients and she is afraid her family may not be able to cope if she is jailed, so she kills them instead. Now that is a twisted way to handle things. Well, the jury obviously finds Anne guilty, and she ends up killing herself by the end of the episode.
