CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (17th May) and cover positions up to Tuesday (14th May). The COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold – Net position long and increasing
The net long positions rose by 49,125 contracts that pushed the net potion to +124.5K contracts.
- Copper – Net position short and increasing
The net short positions rose by 6,488 contracts that pushed the net potion to -19.4K contracts.
- Silver – Net position short and increasing
The net short positions rose by 1,252 contracts that pushed the net positions to -2.21K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and decreasing
Speculators reduced long positions by 6,528 contracts, which brought the net positions to +487.8K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and increasing
The net short positions rose by 5,998 contracts that pushed the net potion to -73.9K contracts.
