LG Uplus launches the U+ TV Next to provide a better viewing experience for its Internet Protocol television (IPTV) and Over-The-Top (OTT) online content video services. The brand’s U+ TV Next is the 2.0 version that is described as a “launcher” that conveniently plays various content.
LG Uplus reorganized its U+ TV with the intention of optimizing the video streaming service. The upgrade allows subscribers to easily search for OTT content in real-time, even while they are watching some shows.
The VOD and OTT Home Screen will make it more convenient for users to browse content in “Today’s Trend,” which suggests trending shows. This is also the space where users can input keywords to find the content they would like to view.
As per Korea Post, the launcher located on the home screen will provide easy browsing while another program is playing. Moreover, in the launcher, OTTs, including Netflix, Coupang Play, Children’s Land, YouTube, Raftel, Disney+, and Teabing, are all present and can be clicked at any time.
“The new U+tv next has evolved into a play platform that integrates VOD and OTT data to innovate the viewing experience and enhance the diversity of content exploration,” Chosun Business quoted Lee Kun Yeong, LG U Plus home media tribe head, as saying in a statement. “U+tv next Through this, we will continue to innovate customer-centered viewing experiences and strengthen partnerships with key partners in real-time big data, AI, and OTT fields.”
In any case, the launcher is one of the most notable additions to the U+ TV’s functionality. It also offers seamless playback of VOD and OTT content on top of the browsing, which has been made more efficient since it is already on the home screen.
