Kirin Brewery Co. will expand its home-delivery beer subscription service in May to include draft beer for home beer dispensers to subscribers twice a month, amid growing demand for its alcohol products at home.
Under the service dubbed "Home Tap", subscribers get to select their favorite beers in one-liter plastic bottles. The list of choices includes Kirin's prime beer "Ichiban Shibori Premium" and craft beer from Brooklyn Brewery in New York, with whom Kirin has a capital and business tie-up.
A beer dispenser is also provided to subscribers.
The price for a four-liter monthly subscription starts from $76 and eight liters from $114.
Kirin launched its home-delivery subscription service in 2017.
Since then, Kirin has manufactured its dispensers and expanded the service nationwide, except for the southernmost prefecture of Okinawa and some other islands.
According to Kirin Brewery President Takayuki Fuse, the company aims to gain 100,000 subscribers by the year's end.
Asahi Breweries Ltd., Kirin's rival, will also offer a home-delivery subscription beer service beginning in May, delivering its "Super Dry" beer in two-liter bottles.
