Jungkook of BTS has been nominated again for this year’s “100 Most Handsome Faces” organized by TC Candler. This is an annual event that the group has been organizing to recognize the most beautiful faces in the world, although the candidates are mostly celebrities.
This is the second year that Jungkook made it to the nominee list. Last year, he placed second overall, and with his popularity these days, he has high chances of placing no. 1 in 2019.
The criteria for TC Candler’s most handsome face award
It was said that TC Candler recognizes the world’s most handsome male celebrities; however, the selection is not just based purely on appearance. To be selected, the nominees’ cultural background, traits, public opinion, and lifestyle are also checked to see if he has the right image to make it as candidates and win.
"BTS #JUNGKOOK was named #9 in the most handsome men in the world by U.S. media 'Gazette Review,'” the 21-year-old’s American fanbase wrote. “Top 10 men were chosen not only for their look but also for talent, wealth, and reliability. It was chosen through professional evaluation, not voted by fans.”
Jungkook’s nomination was announced on July 31 via social media. Several South Korean male celebrities also made it to the list this year, and it includes Jungkook’s BTS bandmate, V.
The other Korean candidates are Astro’s Cha Eun woo, NCT’s Taeyong, EXO’s Lay and Kang Daniel. They will all compete with the likes of Brad Pitt, Leo DiCaprio, Zac Efron, Harry Styles, and Chris Hemsworth.
Jungkook’s Midas Touch
Jungkook is known as BTS’ golden maknae, and he proved many times why he deserves the title. Aside from being recognized as one of the most handsome faces in the world, he also has an amazing star power that let him sell whatever he endorses.
In fact, even if he is not promoting a product, whatever he is using, eating, or simply shown he owns, gets sold out quickly. He famously made the makers of Downy apologize after their fabric conditioner run out of stock early this year. And all that Jungkook did was mention that he is using the product for his clothes while BTS was live-streaming.
And this is not all, he also sold out wines, detergent soaps and more by simply mentioning or holding them for fans to see. This is why, nowadays, Jungkook is very careful when going live. He covers brand names or not say their names at all, but fans can still find out anyway. The latest item that he sold out unintentionally was the hanbok he wore at the airport.
