Jamie Dornan of “Fifty Shades of Grey” has been tapped to star alongside “Captain America: Civil War” actor Anthony Mackie in a new sci-fi thriller titled “Synchronic.” This is one of Dakota Johnson’s former co-star’s next projects following the “Fifty Shades” trilogy.

Deadline reported that Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are teaming up again as co-directors for this big project. It was learned that the former will also get credits as scriptwriter.

“Synchronic” will feature Jamie Dornan and Anthony Mackie as paramedics from New Orleans. Their lives were shattered after experiencing a series of terrible deaths linked to a drug with bizarre, out-of-this-world effects.

Being able to sign up both Dornan and Mackie, directors Benson and Moonhead said that it is a dream come true for them. They also shared that the two are just the perfect actors for their project.

"They each possess an extraordinary depth of personal experiences, humor, and pathos that brings a massive wellspring of humanity to the battle-scarred partnership being portrayed,” the directors told Deadline. “We’ve found the perfect collaborators to tell a bold, frightening, heartstring-tugging story."

Meanwhile, Jamie Dornan’s “Fifty Shades” co-star, Dakota Johnson, is starring in a suspense movie called “Suspiria.” The actress disclosed that she started filming this movie while still working on her remaining scenes in her steamy film with Jamie.

Dakota went on to share that she finds E.L. James’s novels' film adaptations more comfortable to do compared to “Suspiria” but admitted that her scenes with Jamie were somehow just as extreme, Express reported.

“On paper, you might think 'Fifty Shades' was pretty extreme, but there was something cozy about it,” she narrated. “There is nothing cozy about 'Suspiria.' It makes you feel very deeply uncomfortable, it’s unsettling and that feeling doesn’t go away quickly, it lingers.”
