“50 Shades of Grey” lead actor Jamie Dornan was recently spotted joining the cast of “Game of Thrones” season 8 in a wrap party celebrating the end of filming. Dornan’s attendance in the affair stirred a wild speculation that he might somehow appear in the final installment of HBO’s hit show.
The fact that filming of “Game of Thrones” season 8 has ended is headline-worthy on its own. But Dornan’s appearance just sparked even more curiosity, with many fans assuming that his attendance in the party suggests that he may be joining the series somehow.
Photos showed Dornan walking up to the party with cast members Jacob Anderson, Pilou Asbæk, Hannah Murray, and Joe Dempsie. Respectively, the actors are playing the roles of Grey Worm, Euron Greyjoy, Gilly, and Gendry, who are all still alive in the events of the 6-episode “Game of Thrones” season 8.
However, it is important to note that no official word can support claims that Jamie Dornan will show up in the final season of the show. Bustle noted that American skateboarder Tony Hawk was actually in attendance. The same report commented that it is unlikely Hawk took an acting role on the show.
Dornan simply getting an invite to this party is also not far off from reality, especially since some of the “Game of Thrones” actors are his friends and co-stars in other projects. For example, Dornan is in the upcoming HBO movie “My Dinner with Hervé” alongside Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister in “Game of Thrones.”
On the other hand, it is also not like fans have no basis for speculating on a possible cameo featuring a very popular celebrity. In “Game of Thrones” season 7, British music artist Ed Sheeran played one of the Lannister soldiers and shortly serenaded Arya Stark (Maisie Williams). So there is still a very little chance that Jamie Dornan might show up in the series, which is due to premiere in 2019.
