Ivanka Trump recently dropped by the Indiana Women’s Prison to know more about the Last Mile program that trains people who had been jailed. The event was part of Donald Trump’s daughter’s two-day visit to the said state as she aims to learn about prison reforms and meet with Governor Eric Holcomb.
The Last Mile project
Ivanka arrived with Wilbur Ross, commerce secretary, at the Indiana Women's Prison yesterday morning, and her visit also coincides with Nancy Pelosi's announcement that the drafting of the impeachment against the POTUS will move ahead in the House. The lawmakers will also vote if they should charge the president with crimes.
In any case, WTHR 13 reported that Ivanka Trump’s tour was carried out to show members of the Workforce Advisory Board what the development program called The Last Mile is about. Overall, it is a program that mainly aims to teach the inmates computer programming skills.
"Seeing the program it is clear why you have zero recidivism,” Ivanka said as she concluded the visit. “It's absolutely extraordinary and I have to say I was blown away by the presentation.”
Ivanka was bashed for visiting the prison
The First Daughter is obviously trying to show a good deed, but despite her intentions, she was bashed by some people, as per Express. When the officials thanked Ivanka for the support in the project that will give another chance for the inmates, there are commenters who criticized her instead.
“Damn this is a no thanks for me,” one do the commnters said. “What can she know about the struggles of life at all?!” while another one stated, “Of course she resettles this. She can’t get enough of herself. Taxpayers shouldn’t be funding the nepotism and corruption of the unqualified daughter.”
Meanwhile, aside from Ivanka Trump, MC Hammer was one of the guests during the Last Mile program presentation in Indiana. His presence there was not very much appreciated by the public as well because he doesn’t seem to fit in the picture. Also, when his photo with the First Daughter was uploaded online, people said that Ivanka looked scared of the rapper.
