LISLE, Ill., Feb. 01, 2016 -- Armour, the makers of great and convenient products including frozen meatballs, pepperoni and portable meal kits, announced today the return of its iconic jingle. To honor those who often go unnoticed, the jingle has been revitalized to pay tribute to our everyday champions, great moms. It is part of Armour’s focus on all of the mothers who go above and beyond each day and still take the time to provide their families with great meals.

To salute these great moms, the new jingle’s lyrics praise those who do it all and do it all for us. The lyrics are sung to the tune of the original jingle.
Great Moms. Armour Great Moms
What kind of moms are Armour Great Moms
Fun moms. Busy moms.
Moms that never stop
Smart moms. Kind moms.
All those moms that never drop
Are Great Moms
Armour Great Moms
The moms we love so much
“Today’s moms are busier than ever,” said Chuck Gitkin, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Smithfield Foods. “That’s why we are excited to introduce an anthem they can proudly call their own. We wanted to keep the tradition and history of the iconic Armour jingle that is so beloved, and contemporize it to focus on today’s great moms who should be recognized for their tireless efforts. We are confident that this jingle will once again be a celebration for our long and storied Armour brand.”
The new ad will feature a variety of Armour products throughout the year across multiple radio spots. The jingle is scheduled to debut across radio airwaves in select markets in early February.
The famous jingle was first introduced to the public in 1967 and through time, has become a part of Americana. It has aired nationally on radio and TV throughout the years and is considered one of the most famous songs in the history of advertising. It was also included as a part of the "Great Songs of Madison Avenue."
The new jingle was repurposed by the Jacobs Agency and creative director, Bernie Pitzel. Pitzel is known for writing the famous lyrics to the commercial spot, “Be Like Mike.” Pitzel collaborated with Greg Allen of Sonixphere to produce the latest Armour arrangement.
