Hyundai is sparking excitement in the UK with the launch of its INSTER EV, delivering a game-changing 229-mile range and a price tag under $31,000. Positioned to outshine competitors, this compact electric SUV offers modern design and city-friendly dimensions, perfect for urban drivers.
Hyundai INSTER EV to Debut in Europe
In Europe, Hyundai will debut its first compact electric vehicle. Hyundai has revealed that the new INSTER EV will begin selling for less than $31,000 (£23,495), putting it in direct competition with other affordable electric vehicles in the UK.
Electrek reports that Hyundai said the INSTER EV, which is known as the Casper Electric in Korea, has a "segment-leading driving range" and cutting-edge innovative technology when it was unveiled in June.
Cutting-Edge Design Inspired by IONIQ Models
The new design elements from Hyundai are immediately apparent, like the IONIQ models' pixelated front bumper. To further distinguish itself in the age of electric vehicles, Hyundai incorporated its distinctive pixel-graphic turn signals and LED daytime running lights.
With a maximum range of 229 miles, Hyundai asserts that their electric INSTER "redefines what is possible from a small urban EV."
Spacious Interior, Perfect for City Driving
Hyundai asserts that the compact SUV's spacious cabin belies its diminutive stature. Hyundai expanded the body and wheelbase of its gas-powered Casper, which is offered in Korea, to make it "ideal for city driving."
The Hyundai INSTER EV is even smaller than the Kia EV3, Volkswagen ID.3, and Volvo EX30, measuring 3,825 mm in length, 1,610 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,580 mm.
Pricing Options for INSTER EV in the UK
Hyundai has revealed that the INSTER EV will begin selling in the UK for around $30,800 (£23,495). For the 01 trim, that is. Included in the $35,000 (£26,745) 02 trim level are features including roof rails, privacy glass, LED projection headlights, and front parking sensors. On the inside, the 02 model has a flat-folding front seat, a sliding bench seat, and LED multifunction steering wheel lights.
Early Feedback Generates Excitement in Showrooms
The INSTER EV is reportedly making waves, according to Ashley Andrew, president of Hyundai and Genesis UK.
"Our retailer partners and their customers have already enjoyed a sneak preview on our INSTER Roadshow and early feedback suggests that the combination of design, equipment, and price point is already generating excitement in the showrooms," Andrew explained.
Hyundai Confirms No US Launch for INSTER EV
During the summer, Hyundai revealed that the INSTER EV will begin at a pricing point below $27,500 (25,000 euros). The low-priced electric vehicle will not be available in the United States, according to Hyundai.
