“High School Musical 4” will be back and this is a certain fact after Disney confirmed the fourth season. It has been years since the previous installment was released so the confirmation is really good news to all the fans who have been waiting for so long already.
Affirming the “High School Musical 4” renewal, Disney’s president Gary Marsh said in an interview via E! News, "High School Musical is part of Disney Channel's DNA. It embodies all that we stand for."
He added, "As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we're excited to announce 'the start of something new' as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the 'High School Musical' franchise.”
As the “High School Musical 4” will begin production soon, Disney also announced the cast members for the upcoming sequel. As mentioned on Disney’s official fan club site, the lineup include new batch of Wild Cats highschoolers and this includes Ricky (Joshua Bassett), Nini (Olivia Rodrigo), E.J. (Matt Cornett), Kourtney (Dara Reneé), Gina (Sofia Wylie), Carlos (Frankie Rodriguez) and Big Red (Larry Saperstein). The other cast of “High School Musical 4” are Kate Reinders (Ms. Jenn, a teacher) and Ashlyn (Julia Lester).
Deadline reported that “High School Musical 4” will pick from the time when the first movie aired 15 years ago. Gary Marsh said that they will try to recapture the magic of the original “HSM” film and make sure that the upcoming season will have the same vibe.
“How do you recapture the joy and the magic of the original High School Musical movie and simultaneously reimagine it completely?” he asked. “This amazingly talented and diverse cast and crew—have done exactly that!”
Finally, “High School Musical 4” has no definite release date yet but Disney promised to make an announcement as soon as filming is over.
