‘Hawaii Five-O’ season 7’s episode 14, titled "Ka laina ma ke one" (Line in the Sand), is set to follow the team as they get their diplomatic skills tested on a manhunt for a fugitive hiding in a Hawaiian sovereign land. Meanwhile, Lou Diamond Phillips guest stars as tough Special Operation Group’s leader.
The synopsis for "Ka laina ma ke one" (Line in the Sand) posted on TV Guide reads, “Five-0 must negotiate between the law and local customs when a man wanted for murder escapes capture and seeks asylum in sovereign land belonging to the Nation of Hawaii.”
Based on the episode 14’s synopsis, the incoming episode is set to touch on some sensitive and difficult political issues, especially when it comes to the history of Hawaii and what the nation represents. The promo focused mainly on the arrival of a new character and the challenges the team would face in going after a killer.
According to TV Line, Lou Diamond Phillips is set to guest star in the incoming episode as Lincoln, a U.S. Deputy Marshal who heads a Special Operation Group’s tactical team. Phillips’ Lincoln is a tough-as-nails character bound to get into some conflict with the show’s main characters. He is introduced in the promo leading a team to subdue a fugitive hiding in a community.
The 54-year old American actor and director is best known for his films such as 1987’s ‘La Bamba,’ 1988’s ‘Stand and Deliver,’ 1996’s ‘Courage Under Fire,’ 2008’s ‘Che,’ and 2015’s ‘The 33.’ He was also one of the nominees for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for his portrayal of Chieftain on ‘The Crossroads of History.’
‘Hawaii Five-O’ season 7’s episode 14, titled "Ka laina ma ke one" (Line in the Sand), is scheduled to air on CBS on January 20, 2017. It was directed by Peter Weller and written by Sean O'Reilly. It will be followed by episode 15, titled "Ka Pa'ani Nui" (Big Game), scheduled for February 3.
