“Hawaii Five-0” season 9 is going to feature a new main villain. However, this time, Steve McGarrett might be too close to the operation in taking down the new baddie.
“Mistresses” alum Rochelle Aytes was recently cast as “Hawaii Five-0” season 9’s main villain. She will be taking on the recurring role of Greer, according to TV Line. Her character’s background includes being a CIA officer. However, the femme fatale appears to have a lot up her sleeves that her fellow operatives do not know.
Based on the character description in the reports, Greer is great at her job in the CIA. But her allegiance is actually not with the good guys in “Hawaii Five-0” season 9. And, above all, Greer is McGarrett’s ex-lover.
Since the showrunners revealed that romantic past between McGarrett and Greer, it is starting to become interesting just how this affects Greer’s real motives. Even more exciting is how the story will unfold in “Hawaii Five-0” season 9, revealing to viewers as well as the characters that Greer is actually the villain.
It will not take long before fans get to see McGarrett’s ex. In fact, Greer will be introduced in the first episode of “Hawaii Five-0” season 9, titled “Cocoon.” “A character named Greer was introduced in that first episode, and she had a relationship with McGarrett ‘back in the day,’ when he was in uniform,” showrunner Peter M. Lenkov confirmed to TV Line.
The arc where Greer takes the main villain role covers the first two episodes of “Hawaii Five-0” season 9. With that, it looks like it will not take long before McGarrett and his squad are able to avert the threats posed by her ex.
Rochelle Aytes is no stranger to police procedural and crime mystery TV shows. Before her role in “Hawaii Five-0” season 9, the actress also appeared in “Criminal Minds” and “Designated Survivor.” Fans will be watching Aytes as Greer a month from now as “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 premieres on Friday, Sept. 28, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
