A recent story about how a near Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton engagement left the No Doubt singer feeling relieved that it did not come to pass has been making waves on the web. Suffice it to say, this is simply not true, but it is interesting how some media outlets simply can’t help but make up stories about celebrity couples. Then again, it isn’t as if the celebrity pair would let such a small thing interfere with their lives.
As is the case many times before, this new Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton hoax is courtesy of the infamous HollywoodLife publication. The outlet recently published an article about how the songstress is “relieved” that her boyfriend did not propose to her over the holidays. The report headline reads, “Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton: Why She’s Actually ‘Relieved’ He Didn’t Propose To Her On Christmas.”
Just as it did on numerous occasions in the past with similar reports, the publication cites a source who is supposedly close to the Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton couple. This source was not named and their claim could not be corroborated, but this is nothing new when talking about the kinds of reports put out by the outlet.
“Gwen is actually relieved that Blake didn’t propose during their Christmas celebrations,” the supposed source reportedly told the publication. “She really wanted to make the day about her children and the whole family, and feels a proposal would have taken away from that. Gwen wouldn’t have liked making the day all about her when Christmas is supposed to be all about family."
“Gwen had the time of her life and felt so blessed being surrounded by all her loved ones that a marriage proposal was the last thing on her mind.”
Just to show how little regard the Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton couple have for the outlet, the “Hollaback Girl” singer has said “I pretend they don’t exist” about it in the past. This is perhaps for the best since her representatives have spent plenty of time denying the publication's claims already. This time is no different.
