For the most part, since Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton confirmed they are dating, they have been bombarded with wedding rumors. And these claims are, by far, just plain gossip without any actual ceremony happening.
2018 Wedding Rumors
Stefani and Shelton confirmed their relationship status almost three years ago. It also means that there has been a steady stream of wedding rumors within that period. These rumors range from the music artists planning their wedding, through them having different thoughts about marriage, to downright getting married in secret.
However, a Gossip Cop report recently came out dissecting these wedding rumors from popular tabloids and concluded that nothing is accurate. The media outlet (which aims to “fact-check the gossip industry,” according to its website) said several reports “misled” fans.
For one, the report called out a previous article from a tabloid that allegedly insinuated Blake Shelton does not think about marrying Gwen Stefani while she is totally on board with tying the knot. But what Blake Shelton actually told CMT’s Cody Alan in April was, “I think about it. I don’t think it’s anytime soon or anything. The more time that goes by, I guess, the closer you’d be getting to that.”
Meanwhile, there was also another rumor that Stefani’s parents obliged Shelton to convert to Catholicism so he can get their blessings. But it was later dismissed by Stefani’s rep.
Just last June, another report surfaced claiming that the couple is shooting for a midsummer wedding on Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma. Like the other rumors, this was reportedly denied by a spokesperson for Stefani as well.
Gwen Stefani’s Vegas Residency Is Already a Success
It is fair to say that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are enjoying their relationship at their own pace. And fans just better wait for the couple’s official announcement once they decide they are ready to get married. They also seem to be doing pretty well in balancing their time for each other while also managing their music careers.
Earlier this week, Pollstar confirmed that Stefani’s opening of her Las Vegas residency in Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood was a success, garnering $5.5 million in ticket sales. The opening had 12 "Just A Girl" shows that ran from late June to July.
Meanwhile, Blake Shelton’s concert at the main stage of Faster Horses Festival last July 21 was evidently a hit. He also treated country music fans to a surprise performance from his girlfriend during his set at the Watershed Music Festival last week.
