Members of the so-called Guardians of the Galaxy were some of the characters that had important roles in both “Avengers” films “Infinity War” and “Endgame.” But what do the events in these movies say about “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”?
Some of most talked about plots for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is whether or not Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will join the crew. Fans saw Gamora died in “Infinity War” after Thanos (Josh Brolin) sacrificed her to get the Soul Stone. But her 2015 version was revived in “Endgame,” though by the end of the latest MCU film she was not present in Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) ship.
However, the question of whether or not she survived after “Endgame” continues. Even directors Joe and Anthony Russo admitted that they have not figured out Gamora’s fate, too. “We don't know whether she was dusted or whether she survived,” Joe told Business Insider before suggesting that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” might have the answer. One quick note, though, it was mentioned in “Endgame” that sacrifices made for the Soul Stone could not be overturned.
Meanwhile, Thor was a great addition to the gang in the final moments of “Endgame.” To the delight of the fans, he even made a reference to the “Asgardians of the Galaxy.” But does this mean he becomes a permanent addition to the team? It is possibly another mystery to be unraveled in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
However, some leaked information from 4Chan discussions (via Redditor u/EddyTheMartian) suggests that Hemsworth has signed another contract. There are speculations that Marvel is considering to release “Thor 4,” but he could also reprise his role as the God of Thunder in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
One rumored plot for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is reportedly focused on Rocket (Bradley Cooper). It could permit Thor’s return in this movie since the two characters obviously built a good rapport in “Infinity War” and “Endgame.”
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is one of the confirmed films to be released after “Endgame.” It is expected to premiere sometime after “Spider-Man: Far From Home.”
