Things could be looking really good for Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) in “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15. Meanwhile, Luddington also confirmed that the next episode will not have a big time jump from where season 14 concluded.
Luddington attended the San Diego Comic-Con last week where she discussed some of her upcoming projects for TV and the big screen, including “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15. In an interview with TV Line, the actress revealed some spoilers about her character.
“I’ve heard rumors — rumors-rumors — that Jo might find her specialty this season, which is really exciting and is a long time coming. I’m interested to see what it is,” Luddington told TV Line. The actress may be referring to Jo’s specialized practice in the field of medical surgery in “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15.
It can be recalled that Jo decided to pursue being a general surgeon in season 14. In the real world, a general surgeon is trained to perform medical operations on various major internal organs. However, there must be a huge change of story for Jo that would convince her to specialize in a certain field of medical surgery.
Meanwhile, a huge part of Jo’s character history is not knowing who her real parents are. Jo had a rough life. She was abandoned at two weeks old and left at a fire station. She had unstable foster families until she lived independently at the age of 16. Jo has already thrived as a medical professional all on her own. But introducing her real parents is still a possible card that could be slowly played in “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15.
Whether or not her real family will have a role in her future career plans as a surgeon with a specialized field is now likely going to be revealed in “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15. There is also another cliffhanger specific to Jo.
When season 14 ended, she received a fellowship offer from the Massachusetts General Hospital. If she decides to accept it, Jo will be dealing with a lot of major changes in her life in “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15 that also include spending her life her new husband, Alex Karev (Justin Chambers).
ABC is yet to announce the exact return date for “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15. However, it can be observed that the franchise has always premiered in the month of September since season 2. If there are no major changes in the production schedule, “Grey’s Anatomy” season 15 could air its first episode on either Sept. 20 or Sept. 27.
