‘Gotham’ season 3’s episode 17, titled "Heroes Rise: The Primal Riddle," follows Riddler as he continues his rampage around the city while other villains emerge.
The synopsis for “Heroes Rise: The Primal Riddle” posted on TV Guide reads, “Some of Gotham's most unhinged villains band together while the Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) continues his conquest of the city; Gordon's (Ben McKenzie) search for answers leads him to the Court of Owls; and, as Alfred (Sean Pertwee) begins to notice a change in Bruce (David Mazouz), Bruce 2 confides in Selina (Camren Bicondova).”
The upcoming episode is set to feature Riddler, formerly known as Edward Nygma, continue his rampage around Gotham City. It seems that there is no stopping now for Riddler as other antagonists band together to wreak terror in the city. According to Cartermatt, other villains will also make appearances including Mr. Freeze and Firefly.
Victor Fries a.k.a. Mr. Freeze (Nathan Darrow) first appeared on the series on the episode “Rise of the Villains: Worse Than a Crime.” He formerly worked as a cryogenicist engineer, who did everything he could to save his terminally ill wife by looking for a means to freeze people in order to revive them eventually. Despite his initially good intentions, he began to kidnap residents of the city to be used as his test subjects in his experiments.
Bridgit Pike a.ka. Firely (Michelle Veintimilla) was first introduced in the “Rise of the Villains” story arc. The character is a known arsonist and is skilled with a flamethrower. She dons a fireproof suit and burns people alive in order to punish those she sees as “evil.”
According to Comicbook Movie, Mr. Freeze and Firefly will be called on by Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha) to take down Riddler, who is becoming a huge threat. It will be interesting to see a showdown between two villainous factions.
‘Gotham’ season 3’s episode 17, titled "Heroes Rise: The Primal Riddle," is scheduled to air on May 8, 2017 on Fox. It will be followed by episode 18, titled “Light the Wick,” scheduled to be released on May 15.
