Google renamed its Google Glass as Project Aura, in its effort to overhaul the development of its wearable technology. If reports are to be believed, Google is now working on a wearable with a screen and one without.
The Information has learned that Google is actually working on three versions of the ‘head-mounted device’, however, the three may be fused into two. The report says that of the variants being developed, the one with screen is targeted at enterprises, while among the others, the one that targets "sport" users focuses on audio.
9 to 5 Google reports that the Enterprise Edition will have improved hardware, a new physique, improved battery life, improved wireless connectivity, and much more.
Business Insider reported in September that Google hired at least three employees from Amazon's hardware division Lab 126, to work on the project. It is being supervised by Tony Fadell, who according to The Information, experimented with head-mounted designs at Apple.
The team is said to be targeting next year for release of the wearables.
