Google’s beloved Pixel smartphones models are once again, available for order on Google Play and Amazon.
9To5Google reports that the standard, 5-inch screen Google Pixel is available in all three colors: Very Silver, Quite Black, and the limited edition Really Blue. Fans can only avail the 32GB ones only, as the 128GB model is not available. As for the Pixel XL, you can only get the Very Silver and Quite Black variants at either 32GB or 128GB. Prices on these beauties start at USD649.
Slashgear said although it’s not Google’s fault, the high demand for the Pixel smartphones had made the units quite rare to find. However, there are certain contributing factors as to why it might be the case.
“Demand for the Pixel XL in particular has seen the phone unavailable for weeks or even months at a time, and Google’s refusal to allow back-orders and ship out devices when they return into stock has left would-be owners frustrated,” Chris Davies for Slashgear wrote.
However, there’s a catch, and then some. BGR notes that for users who wish to get the unit immediately, they can order one of Amazon with Prime shipping. You just need to pay a premium to avoid waiting. You also have the option to purchase it on Google Play, but shipping would be anywhere from three weeks to a month and a half. If you don’t mind checking in with Google if they will replenish their inventory, simply provide your email address, and Google will notify you.
