“Goblin Slayer” Episode 5 will give viewers of this dark fantasy show a reprieve from the normal scenes of blood and guts before plunging them back in once the next episode airs. It will showcase the normal life of the main character who has, so far, only been seen covered in goblin viscera. There will be a palpable air of the episode being the calm before the storm, however, followed by the anime’s most controversial scene yet.
As OtakuKart notes, the most recent episode of the anime is its most thrilling one yet in terms of action. It was the first time that a real obstacle was placed before the adventurers and the first time that Goblin Slayer was really hurt. In “Goblin Slayer” Episode 5, the adventurers will take the time to recover from their encounter with the huge group of goblins and the ogre.
It’s worth noting here that unlike with other fantasy animes where the protagonist would obsess over the appearance of a Demon army representative, Goblin Slayer does not care about that. True to his established personality, he is only interested in hunting goblins, which may throw long-time anime fans for a loop. “Goblin Slayer” Episode 5 should be more up their speed in terms of filler episodes.
For fans of darker fantasies and gritty anime, however, it’s the episode following “Goblin Slayer” Episode 5 that would be of greater interest. With the episode being titled “Adventures & Daily Life,” GeekSnipper notes, it will provide a window into Goblin Slayer’s normal routine before viewers are thrown back into the action.
This action will come in the form of a goblin army invasion, one that even the mighty Goblin Slayer himself will not be able to stop on his own. It will also feature the infamous scene where meat shields are used against the town’s defenders. Such a shocking sight will follow “Goblin Slayer” Episode 5, which will air on Nov. 4.
