Global Geopolitical Series: Trump set for historic recover relations meeting with Putin after making history with North Korea

According to unofficial commentaries, which is likely to turn official soon, President Donald Trump of the United States would meet his Russia counterpart Vladimir Putin to make a historic attempt to recover relations with Russia in Vienna Austria in July.

President Trump has been a vocal supporter of reviving U.S. -Russia diplomatic relations, which worsened under the previous administration and hit a bottom as the U.S. lawmakers accused Russia of interfering in the 2016 election and Trump administration took up steps to counter Russia by using sanctions and closure of embassies. Leaving for the G7 summit earlier this month Trump expressed his preference for G8 meeting instead of a G7 summit, as he believes that Russia could be instrumental in playing a key role in resolving disputes in countries like Syria and Ukraine. Russia was boycotted by other G8 countries in 2014, in response to Russia’s annexation of Crimea.

According to an unconfirmed report, President Trump is expected to meet President Putin ahead of a NATO leaders’ meeting in Europe on 11th and 12th July. While neither White House and nor Kremlin confirmed the meeting, none has ruled out the possibility.
