GREENSBORO, N.C., Sept. 28, 2017 -- On October 2, more than 1500 Gilbarco employees will join forces to give back to their communities. Gilbarco has offered all employees a full work day to volunteer as part of a team, or with the community organizations of their choice. Gilbarco’s Greensboro location joins over 175 other Fortive company locations around the world in this Day of Caring initiative.

In Greensboro, Gilbarco Veeder-Root employees will be working on approximately 15 projects to feed the hungry, boost educational opportunities, support veterans, assist hospices, and fight homelessness.
“With over 1500 employees in the area, Gilbarco is committed to supporting the community by giving back its time and resources,” said Steve Moule, President of Gilbarco North America. “We have a long history of working actively to enhance and help our community. We are pleased to extend that tradition to kick off our first Fortive Day of Caring.”
Throughout the day, Gilbarco employees will be contributing an estimated 12,000 hours to cleaning up parks and recreational areas, visiting schools and assisted living centers, making care packages for veterans and hurricane relief, and packing toiletry and snack kits for those in need.
Some of the organizations that will participate in the day include: Volunteer Center of Greensboro, The Salvation Army, Newcomers School, Guilford Education Alliance, Back Pack Beginnings, City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation, and The Last Dons.
