Gabrielle Union, who did not return as a judge in America's Got Talent (AGT) 2020, claimed that Simon Cowell has no regard for his co-judges and that the rules on the set do not apply to him.
It has been six months since the Bring It On actress left the AGT and there have been reports that she was dismissed.
According to Digital Spy, that after Union's departure, she had alleged in a formal complaint that racism and sexism existed on the AGT set. NBC then conducted an internal investigation on her complaint and had denied her allegations.
Apparently, Union is not letting up as she has now claimed that Cowell does not believe that the rules set for the AGT production apply to him and as an example pointed out how the TV mogul had been smoking inside the set which caused her allergies to flare up and resulted to her having bronchitis.
However, according to a BBC report, Cowell's spokesperson had replied to this allegation saying that Cowell had stopped when informed about the complaint.
Union had an option on her contract to stay for another year but apparently, this was not exercised with NBC issuing a statement that her complaints did not have anything to do with that decision.
NBC also stated that Union's claim of existing racism and sexism on the AGT set was unfounded per result of the investigation.
The result also concluded that NBC and AGT producers, Fremantle and Syco, agree that there should be diversity and inclusion in the industry and that they have strived to create an inclusive environment for everyone involved in the show.
Union has been vocal of her complaint and her opinion of Cowell having spoken about it on The Daily Show and Variety.
