Rockstar Games has yet to give specific details about “GTA 6.” But, a report recently suggested that its development might be on full swing soon based on a job listing found online.
News Lair, recently, spotted that the video game company is currently looking to hire a new Senior Environment Artist. The same report suggested that expanding the Rockstar employees roster is related to the development of “GTA 6.” It would not be surprising if Rockstar Games would want to enlist more talented developers to match the growing expectation among gaming fans and critics.
However, the mentioned job opening does not seem to be directly related to “GTA 6.” The listing reads: “As a Senior Environment Artist working at Rockstar India, you will be responsible for creating exciting and believable artwork, creating and texturing environment assets for the biggest and best open world environments in the industry.”
Note that it specifically said whoever is going to be hired will be working at Rockstar India, which is located in Bangalore. It can also be recalled that the development of all “GTA 6” predecessors, since 2002, has been primarily credited to the subsidiary Rockstar North located in Edinburgh, Scotland. Meanwhile, Rockstar India has only been established for over a couple of years now so fans are speculating that it might initially focus on minor projects unlike “GTA 6.”
Meanwhile, many fans believe that the development of “GTA 6” is already set in stone despite the lack of official updates from Rockstar Games. Looking at the market success of “GTA V” seems to be enough proof that the video game series will have more installments in the future.
Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser has also previously recognized that “GTA 6” is definitely in the pipeline. However, he also implied that nothing is set in stone yet in terms of its gameplay features and storyline.
As for the “GTA 6” launch, it is still anybody’s guess. The video game company is consistent in not providing any clues on the game’s release date window probably because there are still tons of work to be done. But, even gaming industry analyst Michael Pachter previously estimated that it might take until 2022 before fans can hear about “GTA 6.”
