The details fans have about “GTA 6” for now are mere insider reports and speculations. But some of these are quite entertaining consider such as having a gameplay map set in London. However, Rockstar Games boss Dan Houser might have already dismissed this one a few years ago.
Locations outside North America have been one of the favorite inspirations for gameplay maps recently, especially for open world games. This has fans wondering if Rockstar Games would also revisit London for “GTA 6.” There were two expansion packs released in 1999 for the first-ever GTA game that both used London as the primary environment and map.
Houser has actually addressed the possibility of having a London-focused environment for “GTA 6” in an interview back in 2013. “These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, set in London, whatever, but I don't know if it would be a GTA game,” Houser told the Guardian at the time.
Aside from London, South America is also one of the highly rumored locations for the upcoming game. Various publications have been reporting that “GTA 6” is internally called “Project Americas.”
Rockstar Games is hailed for the massive improvements on the open world setting of the “GTA” games. This makes the next gameplay maps for “GTA 6” one of the favorite topics among fans. It is rumored that the game was named as such because some of its maps are located in South America and North America. But note that this information is yet to be verified.
As for the release date of “GTA 6,” nothing is set in stone yet. However, Houser did comment last year that he is glad they will not be launching the game during the current political climate. On the other hand, gaming industry analyst Michael Pachter previously told GamingBolt, “I say it comes out after 2022. Remember, ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ comes out eight years after the first one- so the idea that GTA 6 comes out before 2021 seems ridiculous.”
