“Fuller House” season 5 is set to return and its production is underway. While this is good news, the bad side is that this is the series’ finale after Netflix deemed it is the right time to end the show.
With the announcement of “Fuller House” season 5’s finale, many assumed that the streaming site canceled the show but Candace Cameron-Bure insists this is not a cancellation but rather Netflix is giving them a way to say goodbye to the fans properly. She added that the executives may have decided to take the series out from their programming lineup because the right time for “Fuller House” to end has come.
"We're saving the best for last," Cameron-Bure said on the video announcement for “Fuller House” last run.
However, while Cameron-Bure has positive thoughts on “Fuller House” season 5’s looming exit, the fans think differently. For them, the show is being unfairly “dismissed” so they launched a campaign so it can continue. They also know that Netflix will not renew it even with their pleas so they are contacting other networks and streaming portals to save the family-oriented comedy.
The campaign was started by Mar, a person who introduced himself as the “Fuller House” fan page owner. He also stated that he had helped saved other shows before so he is hoping for the same outcome for the revived classic favorite show that features the Tanner family and their friends.
The movement to save “Fuller House” was called the #HowRude campaign and the goal is for networks like NBC, ABC, Amazon, and Hulu to pick up their favorite program and produce more stories. In a Facebook post, Mar encourages fans to make a last ditch effort to stop the show from being canceled.
He wrote: “Hey guy’s, we have so much time in my opinion to at least TRY! Let us get the word out about this campaign! Use the hashtag #HowRudeCampaign and #SaveFullerHouse on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram!”
Bob Saget who plays Danny Tanner think that the campaign might work and there could be more chapters after “Fuller House” season 5. In his interview with E! News, he said that the uproar could actually save their program.
"Who knows if it's the last season?" he said. "I don't know. Fans are rebelling."
Meanwhile, “Fuller House” season 5 has not announced any release date yet but it is expected to drop on Netflix before the year ends.
