“Fortnite” has become so popular that it has since invaded the unlikeliest of industries, including sports and music. Just to bring a bit of familiarity back to the table, however, Epic is partnering with Nerf in order to produce a blaster that is modeled after the Scar weapon in the game. Is this just the start, with more “Fortnite” weapons coming to real life?
In a recent Instagram post, Nerf revealed its latest offering to fans of shooting foam darts at each other who are more than likely also fans of the biggest Battle Royale game in the world. Called the Nerf Fortnite AR-L, this neat rifle looks exactly like the weapon that can be found in “Fortnite.” This will allow fans to recreate their favorite moments in the game in real life.
“Introducing the Nerf Fortnite AR-L! Motorized blasting action to create your own NERF Fortnite battles!” the post’s caption reads.
As IGN notes, this is the first real-life blaster that is based on the hugely popular Battle Royale title. It’s unfortunate that the model gun will not be available until June 2019, but it would be worth the wait to fans of the game. What’s more, if the anticipation and the hype for the Scar are high enough, it could lead to more “Fortnite” weapons getting turned into Nerf models.
On that note, this is not the first time that a toy inspired by “Fortnite” has been created. There is also Fortnite Monopoly, which will be released on Oct. 26. This is an interesting version of the classic board game, with health packs and the ability to actually build some walls being included.
For those who are fans of both Nerf guns and “Fortnite,” the Nerf Fortnite AR-L should make for a perfect gift. At $50, it’s certainly a lot more expensive than playing “Fortnite Battle Royale” since the game is free.
