Four months have passed in 2019 and JC Staff has yet to break their silence regarding “Food Wars” Season 4. Right now, the biggest hurdle for the studio is the lack of source material needed to produce the fourth installment, Hiptoro reported.
However, with the manga constantly churning out new content, it won’t be long before this issue is resolved. The previous entry took 97 chapters from the manga in its adaptation. If “Food Wars” Season 4 is treated similarly, then it will only be weeks before JC Staff gathers enough content for a fourth entry.
Chapter 309 in the manga is slated for release on April 26. And with its arrival, there’ll be 92 chapters for the animation studio to use in “Food Wars” Season 4. This means that it’ll be five more weeks before the source material stacks up to 97 chapters.
Hopefully, by that time, JC Staff would’ve announced something as the fans have been patiently waiting for the conclusion of the Promotions Exam arc. “Food Wars” Season 4 is by far the longest entry in the series having entered its ten-month absence on April 25.
Of course, since the anime has been handled as a two-cour installment, the studio may already have started work on the first run of “Food Wars” Season 4. JC Staff could take the first 48 chapters in the manga and animate those while they wait for the rest to drop.
After the first cour had its run, the studio can take their expected break and work on the second part of “Food Wars” Season 4. Of course, this is merely speculation at this point and it’s anyone’s guess what’s happening behind the closed doors of JC Staff.
As for what fans can expect in “Food Wars” Season 4, Kuga and Tsukasa are slated to go head-to-head next. The match is touted to be a redemption arc for Kuga as he’s looking to get even with Tsukasa for his previous loss. Unfortunately, their rematch will be a one-sided contest with Kuga failing to outclass Tsukasa once again.
