“Final Fantasy VII: Remake” has been announced for several years now but updates on its development, especially its release date, have been elusive. Now, video game fans will be delighted to hear that director Tetsuya Nomura hinted at releasing several teasers in 2019.
When asked about what he looks forward to in 2019 by the gaming blog Hokanko, Nomura answered with the keyword “7” and said, “Various presentations to be released.” While Nomura was not very specific, he was very likely referring to “Final Fantasy VII: Remake.” Fans can now look forward to the lineup of major gaming conventions in 2019 in the hopes of seeing an all-new trailer or other sort of teasers for the much-anticipated game.
Hokanko also asked “Final Fantasy VII: Remake” producer Yoshinori Kitase the same question about 2019 and he also provided a very positive answer. Kitase gave the keyword “long-awaited” and that his thoughts of 2019 include the smooth progress of the game’s development.
“Long-awaited” is certainly one of the best words to describe “Final Fantasy VII: Remake.” “I would like to try hard to meet the expectations of fans,” Kitase added.
On another note, Nomura and Kitase’s 2019 hopes could also be telling fans not to expect that “Final Fantasy VII: Remake” will be released next year. However, there is no doubt that Square Enix would make great progress now that the development of “Kingdom Hearts 3” officially concluded last month in time for its Jan. 29, 2019 launch.
“Final Fantasy VII: Remake” was first announced in 2015. As mentioned in a Sony press release, the original game has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide since its original launch in 1997. That apparently makes it one of the most popular “Final Fantasy” installments.
Meanwhile, some fans were recently confused and thought that “Final Fantasy VII: Remake” will be released by the end of 2019 when Amazon sent an email to customers who pre-ordered the game. The message mentioned they have a “new release date information” and cited Dec. 31, 2019, as the expected schedule of launch. However, other fans were quick to clarify that it was just a placeholder date and not the official release date.
