“Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 is returning for another thrilling season. AMC ordered the fifth installment in late 2018 and so far, details about the upcoming episodes are cropping up one by one. Here are the things we know as of now:
“Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 will still feature another “The Walking Dead” crossover. Previously, the show invited TWD’s Morgan Jones (Lennie James) and added Maggie Grace and Garret Dillahunt to the cast too. Now, it was reported that this will happen again in the upcoming installment.
According to TV Guide, Dwight is the next character who will do the crossover to “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5. Via, Twitter, AMC officially confirmed the appearance of Austin Amelio, who plays the Dwight character in TWD, in the fifth season. This addition of another “TWD” cast is expected to bring the ratings up again.

Season 4 went through a major cast shakeup following the deaths of the characters Nick (Frank Dillane) and Madison (Kim Dickens). New faces were introduced – aside from Lennie James, Garret Dillahunt (John Dorie) and Maggie Grace (Althea), the season also saw Jenna Elfman (Naomi/June) in the episodes. Needless to say, they will be joined by Amelio in “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5
For “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 premiere, sadly, this detail is not yet available. There is no announcement from AMC yet but there is a chance it will be out before the year ends since filming began in December 2018.
Meanwhile, fans are hoping that the airdate of “Fear the Walking Dead” season 5 is not going to be affected by AMC’s copyright cases. The network is currently dealing with a copyright claim by Mel Smith, a comic book author, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
AMC was accused by Smith of stealing the story idea for “Fear the Walking Dead” from her “Dead Ahead” book. The network filed for a motion to dismissed the case but the judge handling the case dismissed the motion thus the legal proceedings may continue and AMC will be put in a tight spot.
