Ubisoft delivered on its promise of unveiling “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey” this week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018. Now, the video game company has also revealed the different editions in which the game will arrive.
In every game announcement, developers and publishers usually begin accepting pre-orders shortly after offering three to four varieties of editions. But Ubisoft went all out in giving its fans freedom to choose what kind of “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey” bundle they want to get at different price points and with different inclusions, of course.
And, obviously, one of the options is the Standard Edition for $59.99, which contains the base copy of “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey” and nothing more. Unfortunately, that is all there is to this purchase. Ubisoft also did not include a few days of early access even as a pre-order bonus.
Next up in the chain is the Digital Deluxe Edition, which costs $79.99 and will let players have a slight starting advantage with two gear sets, one naval pack, and two boosts. But just like the Standard Edition, the additional $20 charge will not give them a ticket to an early access.
Paying $30 more will get players the Gold Edition, and the offer of the exclusive three-day early access begins in this tier. While it does not come with bonus gears and boosters, this purchase will also provide players with the “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey” season pass for all upcoming DLC. It also comes with the themed steelbook case, except for its digital copy.
For $119.99, players can get the game’s Ultimate Edition and have access to all the abovementioned content, including the base game, season pass, gears, the steelbook case for the physical copy, and the three-day early access.
“Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey” is set in ancient Greece and inspired by the epic battles of this once-great nation. The developers also brought to the game their versions of some of the popular people who helped shape the world’s history. So, it would be a waste not to offer players real-life collectible items designed after the said people.
With that, Ubisoft also launched the Spartan Edition and the Pantheon Edition, which are priced at $159.99 and $219.99, respectively.
The Spartan Edition will have all the game content available in the Gold and Deluxe Editions, plus exclusive items like “Odyssey”-inspired artbook, map, the game’s official soundtrack, and a 15.5-inch figurine of Alexios -- the game’s male protagonist. All these are also available in the Pantheon Edition but with an even better figurine: Alexios depicted in a fight with an enemy.
“Assassin's Creed: Odyssey” will be released on Oct. 5 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
