Fans of the “Fallout” video game franchise now have more things to look forward in “Fallout 76” as Bethesda Softworks has confirmed that the title mainly features a multiplayer gameplay.
One of the highly anticipated reveals at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018 was about “Fallout 76,” and Bethesda Softworks did not disappoint. The company did not only reveal a fresh gameplay demo of “Fallout 76,” it also shared substantial details on the next “Fallout” installment.
“Fallout 76” will mark a huge leap in the video game series since it is going to be the first-ever installment to feature an online-only multiplayer mode, according to The Verge.
The “Fallout” series has been one of the highly successful titles from Bethesda. It is known for bringing gamers to post-apocalyptic settings but, until now, has only let players act as a lone survivor.
While “Fallout 76” is being hailed as the first title in the franchise to include cooperative gaming, Bethesda reminded fans that they can still play solo. But highlight gameplays such as building structures for survival and gunning down killer creatures can be enjoyed best with teammates on board.
Before Bethesda’s own E3 2018 press event, “Fallout 76” had made an appearance at the Xbox E3 2018 stage. Bethesda Game Studios director and executive producer Todd Howard revealed that “Fallout 76’s” map will be “four times the size of ‘Fallout 4.’"
Although technically, “Fallout 76” is the ninth overall franchise installment, it has been reported earlier that its plot actually serves as a prequel set in 2102 or 25 years after the game’s Great War occurred. Note that the first-ever “Fallout” game was set in 2161, which means “Fallout 76’s” story precedes all “Fallout” games ever released.
With an all-new multiplayer game mode, Bethesda will be hosting a beta test (the schedule is still unknown) prior to “Fallout 76’s” official launch on Nov. 14. To get a ticket to the early access period, gamers must pre-order any of the available “Fallout 76” editions.
