Bethesda Softworks has revealed that Xbox One players are the first ones to get beta access to the upcoming game “Fallout 76.”
At the time of “Fallout 76’s” announcement at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018 last week, developers confirmed that players who will pre-order the game are the only ones to get free beta access. Then reports noted that Bethesda had updated the game’s beta FAQ page on Monday where it was confirmed, “Please note that the B.E.T.A. for Xbox One will begin first, followed by other platforms.”
It is likely that Microsoft struck a deal with Bethesda that landed them the right to be the first to showcase the game during its E3 2018 press event. And now, it has granted their customers the “Fallout 76” beta access advantage.
Players on other platforms must not feel bad. Bethesda will also open beta servers to the game’s PS4 and PC versions at a later date.
Bethesda has not yet revealed the schedule of “Fallout 76’s” beta release on all platforms.
While waiting for the “Fallout 76” beta to go live, players can first check if they have already received their beta access code, especially those who pre-ordered the title through an authorized retailer outside Bethesda.net or the PS and Xbox Stores.
In this case, players must set up an account on Bethesda.net then proceed to the page where they can redeem the beta access code. "At a later date, you will be contacted via your registered email address where you will be provided your official console B.E.T.A. access code or Bethesda.net download instructions,” Bethesda explained.
Meanwhile, developers reminded players that a beta access code can be redeemed only once and it cannot be used with a different account.
“Fallout 76” is the latest main title installment in the “Fallout” series and will bring gameplay features that have never been introduced to the entire franchise. For one, all individuals that players will encounter in the Wasteland are now real people and not non-playable characters.
The full game will be released on Nov. 14.
