Natsu will be diagnosed as having some type of cancer in “Fairy Tail” episode 296. But fans should not be worried that much because it would not take long before someone heals him. Anime fans should also expect to learn more about Brandish’s past and link to Layla in the upcoming episode.
To briefly recap, episode 295 ended with Brandish being betrayed and attacked by Marin. It resulted in her becoming a prisoner of the Fairy Tail. The guild decides she is more useful to them alive than killing her senseless just to execute punishment. Brandish takes this chance in “Fairy Tail” episode 296 to explain why she wants revenge against Layla.
Brandish is the daughter of one of Layla’s former servants, Grammi, to whom she gave the Aquarius Zodiac key. Their relationship went south and Layla ordered to kill Brandish’s mother. But Brandish is still filled with rage and takes this opportunity to hurt Lucy in “Fairy Tail” episode 296. Luckily, Aquarius will appear to save Lucy and help Brandish understand what really happened in the past.
“Fairy Tail” episode 296 will then introduce the Star Memory dimension that works like a memory archive for the Celestial Spirits. Ultimately, Aquarius will show Brandish that Grammy and Layla remained good friends even when the servant failed to do her part in opening the Eclipse Gate. Brandish will also witness that Layla had nothing to do with Grammi’s death. There will be more to the story of Brandish’s past, however, Aquarius was interrupted by a worried Happy.
Happy storms in the infirmary where Brandish, Lucy, and Aquarius are because Natsu suddenly loses consciousness in “Fairy Tail” episode 296. Porlyusica will diagnose Natsu has an Anti-Ethernano Tumor due to constantly overexerting his magical powers for years. This cancer is described in the manga as very deadly. However, Natsu will be healed soon enough, thanks to Brandish.
It is expected that fans will get an update on the ongoing battle between the Alvarez Empire and Ishgar by the end of “Fairy Tail” episode 296. The anime returns with a new episode on Feb. 17.
