Even though “Fairy Tail” episode 290 is not expected to include any fighting scene, it will still be an exciting installment for several reasons. For one, Natsu will reveal for the first time that he might have a secret weapon against Zeref. The Guild will also be discussing the Fairy Heart with more details.
Based on the manga chapters where “Fairy Tail” episode 290 is based, this is going to be the first time Natsu will tell the others that he has been developing a secret technique. This has the potential to defeat Zeref who is an immortal being.
Unfortunately, this secret weapon might remain a secret until the end of “Fairy Tail” episode 290. This will frustrate Natsu’s affiliates but Mavis tells them she believes in him and that she also has something being planned as well. This will convince the other characters to trust Natsu and let this weapon remain a secret for the meantime.
Another major part of “Fairy Tail” episode 290 is the further discussion of Fairy Heart. At this point in the anime series, there are only a few facts known about this powerful magic. The next episode could include flashbacks featuring Precht to explain how his decades of attempting to revive Mavis contributed to the making of Fairy Heart. Precht’s experiments, though they failed, mixed up with the Ankhseram's Curse in Mavis’ body.
Meanwhile, the manga chapters expected to be used as materials for “Fairy Tail” episode 290 also include a part where some of the Spriggan 12 members will be meeting again. As some fans know, this group of elite forces serving Zeref rarely get a complete attendance. But at least two appearances will be quite a surprise in the end.
In the manga, there were only seven members who arrived at the beginning of the meeting. At this point, Zeref will open the discussion about their plan of action in attacking Ishgar. It will be mentioned that the Spriggan 12 is after the Fairy Heart and plans to fulfill Zeref’s goal of killing all mankind. As the forces reiterate their allegiance to Zeref, Makarov introduces two other members in the meeting namely Bloodman and Neinhart. “Fairy Tail” episode 290 will air on Sunday, Jan. 6.
