DENVER, April 03, 2018 -- Faction, the leading Multi-Cloud Platform as a Service provider, headquartered in Denver, CO, announced today that Sean Charnock, co-founder of SoftLayer and a pioneer in the cloud industry, has been appointed to its Board of Directors.
Charnock joins Faction as an independent board director adding extensive industry experience from his prior leadership positions. Charnock is currently President of Humach, a provider of multi-channel contact center outsourcing services, and his successful history and relevant experiences include roles as co-founder and SVP at SoftLayer Technologies (acquired by IBM), COO and SVP of iSIGHT Partners (acquired by FireEye) and Managing Director at DH Capital. Charnock has participated in over $5 billion of venture-backed exits.
Faction recently announced an $18 million Series B equity investment, upon which the following individuals have also joined Faction’s Board of Directors: Rob Heimann of River Cities Capital Funds as a Board Director, and Daniel Docter of Dell Technologies Capital as a Board Observer.

Background on Sean Charnock
Sean has over 20 years of experience in various high-tech fields including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, telecom, complex hosting and infrastructure as a service. Sean is currently President of Humach where he leads the development and expansion of the company’s technology portfolio. Prior to Humach, Sean was COO & SVP at ISIGHT Partners (acquired by FireEye in 2016), where he led of all aspects of the business including Operations, Engineering & Product Development, Product Management, Product Management, Global Intelligence, and Customer Success. Sean was Co-Founder and SVP of SoftLayer Technologies which was acquired in 2013 by IBM for over $2BN. Earlier in his career Sean gained extensive international experience spearheading global business development efforts for Efficient Networks prior to an acquisition by Siemen’s AG for $1.5BN. Sean’s prior experience also includes work as an investment banker and operating partner with DH Capital, an investment bank focused on strategic growth financing for Internet Infrastructure, telecommunications and Software as a Service firms.
Sean continues to be an active technology investor, and he maintains multiple board and advisory roles. He has a BS Degree in Finance and Banking from the University of North Florida, as well as an MBA from Regis University.
