Epic Games Store has unveiled 13 out of 15 free games promised for this year’s Holiday Sale. However, leaks have already revealed the remaining titles, and the digital store is rumored to close the giveaway with a bundle of the “Tomb Raider” trilogy.
The Holiday Sale kicked off last Dec. 16 with the promise of giving away a total of 15 free games — one title each day until Dec. 30. Since then, leaks have already surfaced online, including a post from Dealabs user billbil-kun. The source has become quite known in previous months after becoming a reliable leaker of upcoming free games on PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold.
Billbil-kun’s (machine translated) post on Dealabs, however, only named 14 free games to be offered to Epic Games Store users. For the 15th giveaway, the leaker noted that the 15th giveaway can be claimed from Dec. 30 to Jan. 6, 2022. The free game’s title was not provided in the post, but billbil-kun said it “will be the subject of a new deal,” suggesting that it might be a game that has yet to launch on Epic Games Store.
While the Dealabs post did not identify the final giveaway for the 2021 Holiday Sale, another leak on Reddit appears to provide the missing information. Reddit user Born-Ad2043 shared a blurry screenshot on early Tuesday claiming that “Tomb Raider” (2013), “Rise of the Tomb Raider,” and “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” are all slated to be offered as free games on Dec. 30 on Epic Games Store.
These “Tomb Raider” titles comprise the video game franchise’s third series. Their special editions were released as a bundle titled “Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy” last March, but only on PlayStation and Xbox.
The collection has yet to launch on PC, and “Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration” is the only game from the franchise available on Epic Games Store at the moment. While PC gamers are still advised to wait for the official announcement, the addition of the trilogy to the Epic Games Store during the Holiday Sale seems to correspond with billbil-kun’s hint at the final freebie being a “subject of a new deal.”
