Epic Games Store is about to unveil another free game as part of its annual Holiday Sale a few hours from now. However, some teasers may have already been decoded leading to speculations that “Metro 2033 Redux” could be downloaded for free on Tuesday.
‘Metro 2033 Redux’ for free on Epic Games Store?
When someone goes to the Holiday Sale page on Epic Games Store, they will find that the newly unveiled free game is the popular horror survival title “Alien: Isolation” originally released in 2014. It can be downloaded for free until Wednesday, Dec. 23, at midnight.

On the same page, beside the “Alien: Isolation” poster, is a teaser for the next free game on Epic Games Store. It is illustrated as an unwrapped gift and its design may have already given away the game hidden in it. Known video game insider Wario64 has pointed out that the red wrapping paper is filled with icons of full-face gas masks, an image that was widely seen throughout the game of “Metro 2033 Redux.” Meanwhile, a fan also commented that the shade of red used for the teaser looks similar to the one used in the game’s official poster image as a background for the word “Redux.”

It is also worth noting that there have been several reports on various platforms online claiming that the entire list of free games coming to the Epic Games Store Holiday Sale this year has been leaked. Assuming that the games are listed by order of their date of release as a giveaway, it also suggests “Metro 2033 Redux” would be unveiled as a freebie on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
This got sent to me a few hours ago, I wasn't sure if it's real or not.

But now, as New 'n' Tasty leaked to come out today, this list is most likely true. Still take it as a grain of salt. I'll give you more info where it's from. pic.twitter.com/0vTNgMec3n
The entire list has yet to be verified. But it is worth noting that it also listed “Alien: Isolation” before “Metro 2033 Redux.” If it turns out to be accurate, the first-person shooter game would be followed by the construction and management sim “Tropico 5.”
‘Metro 2033 Redux’ gameplay: What to expect
The original “Metro 2033” was originally released in 2010 and was followed by a sequel “Metro: Last Light” in 2013. “Metro 2033 Redux” was launched as a re-release compiling both titles to be playable on new-generation consoles, PS4 and Xbox One, at the time.
The game is played in the first-person where players will have to fight mutants and humans using an array of guns. It is also worth noting that its plot is based on the same title, a post-apocalyptic novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky set after a nuclear war has completely devastated the world. Amid a war between radicals with opposing views, the story intensifies as one of the bases where humans reside is attacked by unknown creatures.
