“Elementary” season 7 has been renewed while season 6 was still airing. The cast and crew immediately proceeded to film new episodes and since then everyone involved in the production is hard at work.
The filming for “Elementary” season 7” officially started in July 2018 and it was the show’s writers who confirmed this detail via social media. The post was liked and shared many times because fans thought that there would be no season 7 anymore. This was because the sixth installment’s finale’s ending has been written like it is already the end of Sherlock Holmes’ story.
What to Expect?
When “Elementary” season 7 premieres, there will be a time jump of one year. According to showrunner Rob Doherty, the story will begin a year from the point where season 6’s “Whatever Remains, However Improbable” episode ended.
“When we come back in the seventh season, a year will have passed,” Doherty told TV Line. “So all of our characters will have had time to really reflect on what happened at the end of the sixth season.”
Setting
With the 1-year time jump, so much had already happened and that must be the period when the characters moved to another country. The show will not be based in New York but it will go back from Sherlock Holmes’ original hometown, where it all began. Dr. Joan Watson and Sherlock will continue their detective adventures in London in “Elementary” season 7.
As for the cast, Lucy Lui will still play Dr. Watson and Jonny Lee Miller will remain as Holmes, her partner in crime solving. “Elementary” season 7 will also star Aidan Quinn (Tommy Gregson), Jacob Fishel (Graham Jenkins), Jon Michael Hill (Marcus Bell), Liza J. Bennett (Hannah Gregson) and De'Adre Aziza (Krista).
CBS has not announced any premiere date for “Elementary” seasons 7 but many predicted that it could arrive in April. In any case, while the show was not canceled, it was confirmed that this would be the series finale, its last run.
