The synopsis for “Moving Targets” posted on TV Guide reads, “A reality show contestant is murdered, and Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson (Lucy Liu) zero in on another competitor as a suspect, a war criminal who may be the most skilled killer they have ever pursued. Meanwhile, Shinwell (Nelsan Ellis) asks Joan for a favor for the first time since he attacked Sherlock.”
The upcoming episode is set to follow Sherlock and Watson as they investigate the case of a murdered reality show contestant. They will begin to suspect that another competitor, a war criminal, may be behind the crime. It turns out that this suspect is a skilled killer, posing a challenge for the equally skilled Sherlock and Watson.
The promo hints that the suspect will be quite elusive and will prove difficult to subdue. Sherlock declares that they have never seen a more accomplished killer in all their careers.
Meanwhile, Shinwell will approach Watson for help. This will be the first time he has ever asked her for a favor since he attacked Sherlock. It will be interesting how this exchange will turn out.
According to Cartermatt, the upcoming installment of CBS’ crime-drama television series created by Robert Doherty was directed by none other than Lucy Liu herself.
‘Elementary’ season 5’s episode 22, titled “Moving Targets,” is scheduled to air on CBS on May 7, 2017. It was directed by Lucy Liu and written by Robert Hewitt Wolfe. It will be followed by episode 23, titled "Scrambled,” directed by Christine Moore and scheduled to be released on May 14.
