The wait for a new “Elden Ring” trailer might be ending sooner than people think. Some fans believed they have found a clue that the game will be presented during the Summer Game Fest this week.
Fans have been waiting for a new “Elden Ring” trailer since The Game Awards last December. During the event, host Geoff Keighley mentioned the game on stage but it only led to disappointment when it was not accompanied by a new trailer as many hoped. The game was fittingly recognized as the most anticipated game. Ironically, though, it was a no-show during the event.
It led to a widely shared joke on Twitter that Keighley had been detained in “gamer prison” for mentioning “Elden Ring” despite not having a new trailer or any content to present. The joke became quite popular garnering more than 37,000 likes on Twitter and thousands of retweets. Now, fans are revisiting the post from last December, and possibly for a good reason.

Keighley sparked speculations that “Elden Ring” will make an appearance at the Summer Game Fest, which he will host, after posting a GIF of a panda in a crib with an overlay text that reads, “I will break free!” Gaming fans who were familiar with the “gamer prison” instantly made the connection and suggest that Keighley may have hinted at mentioning “Elden Ring” at the upcoming event, only this time he has a trailer (or any form of a teaser) to present.

Summer Game Fest will be the first major gaming event this month happening on Thursday, June 10, at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. GMT. Fans can follow the announcements and the possible “Elden Ring” presentation through its official stream on YouTube. A placeholder for the event is now live and a “Set reminder” is available so fans can be notified before the stream begins.
A new “Elden Ring” trailer would be overall good news for fans, but it might not necessarily mean that its release date is any closer. FromSoftware has yet to announce a launch window for the game. But given that it was announced two years ago, many are speculating that it could be launched later this year. However, a report earlier this year suggested that the game might not go live until after March 2022.
