Unfortunately, official updates on the release of “Dragon Ball Super” season 2 are still scarce months after the first installment concluded. However, many are speculating that the anime will return with new episodes next year.
If “Dragon Ball Super” season 2 is going to be released sometime in 2019, OtakuKart suggests that fans could be hearing more of the good news before this year ends. And it might be happening during the 2019 Jump Festa.
The main stage panel and events for the 2019 Jump Festa on Dec. 22 to 23 were revealed recently. There will be dedicated segments for the following franchises: “One Piece,” “Haikyuu!!,” “My Hero Academia,” “Black Clover,” “Kimetsu no Yaiba,” “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations,” “The Promised Neverland,” “We Never Learn,” and “Dragon Ball Super.”

The OtakuKart report pointed out that the upcoming Jump Fest panel could be where the release date for “Dragon Ball Super” season 2 is officially announced. Other than the next installment, there are only a few other viable announcements to happen on a stage as huge as Jump Fest. It is purportedly impossible that the Jump Festa panel will focus on the Broly-focused movie since that is slated to premiere on Dec. 14.
Now that more details about the “Dragon Ball Super” season 2 are eyed before 2018 ends, the next big question is about the series’s release window. OtakuKart suggests that the most possible premiere date could be slated for July 2019.
The possibility of seeing the “Dragon Ball Super” season 2 opener in April 2019 is also being considered. But it seems too soon considering the time it has been since season 1 ended earlier this year.
Speaking of the “Dragon Ball Super” season 2 release, there was an earlier confusion regarding whether or not the anime series will continue. When the series's official website was updated for the “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” movie, Akira Toriyama mentioned: “Now then, the animated version on TV will be ending for the time being.”
It stirred concern among fans that there might not be a “Dragon Ball Super” season 2. But reports have it that Toei Animation immediately cleared the air by confirming there will be more of the anime series.
