Toei Animation's hype-building lead-up to the much-awaited “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” movie has been effective at getting fans excited about the originally non-canonical “Dragon Ball” antagonist's return. The studio has fans guessing about what power and skills Broly will be bringing to the upcoming installment when Toei released the teaser trailer for the movie. But it seems Toei's marketing arm recently made a slight mistake in keeping some of the upcoming movie's details under wraps.
In a story covered by Comicbook, Cine Colombia – a Colombian movie listing website – posted a summary for “Dragon Ball Super: Broly.” While the text was originally written in Spanish, a cursory translation of the text reveals the upcoming movie's plot in more detail compared to the usual material being promoted in official channels.
The big reveals in the plot of “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” leaked by Cine Colombia include the reason why Broly will find himself facing off against Vegeta and Goku. It seems that Broly has been taken in by the Freeza army after having grown up in exile due to jealousy from the King of the Planet Vegeta. Fast forward a few years later, Vegeta and Goku, who are on a journey to search for the six Dragon Balls, come into conflict with Freeza, who now has the powerful Broly by his side.
There are still a couple of spoiler points which are not totally explained, such as scenes in the “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” trailer showing a golden Freeza facing off against Broly. While this could easily be a surprise cut, there is also the possibility that Broly, realizing his strength, turns his power against Freeza as well.
Fans looking forward to seeing if the spoiler posted by Cine Colombia turn out to be true can catch “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” when it is released in theaters in Japan on Dec. 14. Fans waiting for the North American release can expect Funimation to handle the film's release in January 2019.
