The new OTC feature now available on Bitfinex's decentralized partner Ethfinex Trustless, the firm now unleashes a whole new method to trade tokens while giving you additional flexibility when working with the exchange.
The Ethfinex Trustless OTC block counts on an ecosystem of 'blockchain driven smart contracts’. And such blockchain-driven smart contracts that facilitate OTC trade mechanism are as good as cross-chain atomic swaps, that are commonly utilized in decentralized exchange protocols.
Such arrangement is pretty much in resemblance with atomic swaps through which traders would be enabled to make exchanges while keeping the assets in their own wallets, instead of surrendering them to custodial services, and can swap any ERC-20 compliant token.
"Extending the capabilities of Ethfinex Trustless to include an OTC service is an important step in fulfilling the potential of decentralization in the cryptocurrency market," said Ethfinex Trustless founder Will Harborne. It is quite helpful for those who cannot afford exorbitant OTC desks and provides security in blockchain enforced atomic deals. Clients no longer have to rely on a third party or take the risk of trades directly with the counterparty themselves. Courtesy: BNC
