‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ chapter 203: Tanjiro might become the new antagonist of the manga series

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 203 might prove to be critical to the future of the hit manga series. While there have been speculations that the manga might end after the death of Muzan, the upcoming chapter might hold the key to extending the plot even after the strongest demon’s demise.

In the previous “Kimetsu no Yaiba” manga chapter, Tanjiro started transforming into a demon after Muzan injected his cells into his enemy. It’s ironic and cruel but Tanjiro just might end up becoming a demon, the very thing that he fought against his entire life.

But there is still hope, the process might still be reversed. Kanao had a spare medicine specifically designed for reversing demonic transformations. She managed to inject the drug into Tanjiro but ended up seriously injured in the process.

That’s why fans can hardly wait for the “Demon Slayer” chapter 203 release date to arrive. It will finally be revealed in the upcoming chapter if Tanjiro was successfully cured by Kanao’s medicine or not.

It’s a good sign that Tanjiro seems to be resisting his demonic urges with everything he’s got. For example, he never seriously harmed Nezuko even after biting her. This means that deep inside, Tanjiro’s consciousness has not yet been fully erased. In fact, it seemed that his consciousness is starting to stir after Kanao injected the drug.

The problem is that there is no guarantee that the medicine might work on Tanjiro. While Nezuko has been successfully restored back into a human, Muzan was not, which suggests that the drug does not always work. If Tanjiro won’t be fully cured by the drug in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 203, there are two possible scenarios that might happen. First is that he will become just like the previous Nezuko, who has not fully transformed into a demon but can still distinguish friend from foe.

On the other hand, there is also the possibility that Tanjiro’s demonic transformation might be beyond the drug's efficacy. If this happens, Muzan’s plan will have succeeded and Tanjiro will become the new Demon King and the new antagonist of the manga series.
