The developers of “Cyberpunk 2077” has been quite accommodating to its fans with regards to information about the upcoming title. The only thing that CD Projekt Red is withholding at the moment is the release date of the game, Cogconnected reported.
This is despite the fact that the team has confirmed that “Cyberpunk 2077” is already playable in its entirety. But given the studio’s penchant for perfection, their silence about this particular subject isn’t surprising.
So what are the recent information revealed by the developers? Well, for one thing, “Cyberpunk 2077” will not have a battle royale mode. This is a valid question to ask given that battle royale games is the rage nowadays. Indeed, the success being enjoyed by “Apex Legends” is quite indicative of this fact.
Fortunately, CD Projekt Red isn’t interested in following this trend, opting instead to focus on the quality of the game. It’s been reported that the studio has tasked around 400 developers to finish “Cyberpunk 2077” and no reports have been made regarding complications so far.
Another information that’s been offered by the developers is regarding the companions of the game’s protagonist. One fan asked over Twitter if Jackie – one of the protagonist’s companions seen in the trailer – would be turned into a female should gamers choose to play as a male. CD Projekt Red answered they he will not be. However, they did assure that Jackie is but one of the many comrades that will be tagging along in “Cyberpunk 2077.”
It’s safe to assume that the studio will treat this companion system similar to what they’ve done to the “Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” In the game, side characters like Yen, Triss, Dijkstra, Vernon Roche, and more only went along on certain missions; quests that involved them in a particular narrative. As for when fans can expect “Cyberpunk 2077” to drop, it’s being speculated to be released in the last quarter of 2019.
However, that date could be pushed to the early parts of 2020 should the developers decide to do so. And that is alright. Gamers know all too well what happens when titles are rushed by publishers, with EA being the poster boy for such massive blunders. “Cyberpunk 2077” is one of the most anticipated games coming soon and it doesn’t need to be rush. It needs to be polished to a gleaming shine.
