SAN MATEO, Calif., Sept. 12, 2017 -- Coupa Software (NASDAQ:COUP), a leader in cloud-based spend management, announced today that the company has been certified as a “Great Place to Work” by the Great Place to Work® organization.
Great Place to Work® is a global research and consulting firm that provides the benchmarks, framework, and expertise needed to create, sustain and recognize successful workplace cultures. The organization certifies work spaces as a great place to work by gaining insights from leaders, surveying millions of employees, and examining many of the best workplaces globally.
At Coupa, 77 percent of its employees were surveyed anonymously by the Great Place to Work organization asking them to assess their workplace, including the honesty and quality of communication by managers, degree of support for employees' personal and professional lives, and the authenticity of relationships with colleagues. Then, a complete culture brief was done to discuss Coupa’s programs and practices. Results were analyzed, and Coupa scored 13 points more than the high bar set to be certified as “A Great Place to Work.”
“Even with our growth, we have been able to ensure that we retain the critical aspects of our culture that have made Coupa successful,” said Ray Martinelli, executive vice president of people at Coupa. “Maintaining a great culture is not easy as you grow, so the survey is confirmation that we are on track and that makes us feel very proud.”
In the Coupa survey results, 93 percent of the company’s employees said they are willing to give extra to get the job done, while 92 percent said they are proud to tell others that they work for Coupa. In addition, at least 93 percent or higher of Coupa’s employees said the company’s three core values are “almost always true” or “often true.” Coupa’s core values and their exact survey scores are: Ensure Customer Success (96 percent), Focus on Results (96 percent) and Strive for Excellence (93 percent).
“Our employees are proud of their work environment at Coupa,” Martinelli said. “We have built and maintained a great culture with talented employees. Our core values are all critical aspects of who we are as a company and how we partner with our customers.”
