Since “Overwatch” was released to the general public, players have noticed that there is an incredible imbalance whenever the character “Torbjörn” is used. Calling the dwarf overpowered and unfair, the complaints forced “Blizzard” to make some changes with the champion in order to restore balance to the game. In other words, “Torbjörn” is getting nerfed.
The main problem that players had with “Torbjörn,” as Reddit users have been complaining about, is the fact that his skills make for an incredibly imbalanced game. Not only does his support allow for more sustainability and damage among his teammates, his turret and shotgun do some rather nasty damage when used effectively. More than that, his turrets are really accurate, which is a problem with most console players who don’t have the same accuracy that a PC mouse could provide.
As Mashable points out, PC players don’t have much of a problem with the capabilities of “Torbjörn” because keyboards and a mouse offer much more precision when aiming and reacting. Being able to communicate with other players via chatbox also helps in coordinating an effective counterattack in order get around the advantages that the dwarf’s turret provides.
Unfortunately, console players just don’t have this option, which is why the character is getting a 30 percent damage reductions when the next update rolls in. Since it’s not as much of a problem for PC gamers, “Torbjörn” will remain as he is.
On that note, Forbes also touched on the possibility that the turrets might have been designed with mouse and keyboard in mind. Leaving out PC versions from the nerfed “Torbjörn” update could be an indication that Blizzard recognizes the PC as a superior medium for playing video games, which doesn’t necessarily mean that they will be neglecting consoles.
Essentially, the updates available for the various platforms might simply be different on a case-by-case basis, which is an interesting development in how games are approached regarding consoles and PCs.
