This week Dwight Koop joins the national members of InfraGard leadership in Quantico, Virginia for the first meeting for the newly elected officials.
“Mr. Koop is a great asset for the InfraGard national leadership and community,” wrote Kimberly Pratt, Executive Director of the InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA). “His experience and expertise helps our members and specifically our national Board of Directors understand the business impact of cybersecurity and technologies. His financial and technology leadership will help steer the INMA as it works to modernize and develop more resources for InfraGard members nationwide.”
Mr. Koop’s path to InfraGard leadership has been a long time in the making. He began his career post-Master's Degree as one of the founders of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) during its early and rapid growth years. He became an EVP, learning from some of the financial and security industry greats. At O'Connor Associates, which was later acquired by The Swiss Bank Corporation, Mr. Koop was responsible for infrastructure architecture, system engineering, network engineering, and global data center operations for Trading and Markets Divisions.
“A strong partnership between the private sector and government is fundamental to InfraGard,” said Dwight Koop, COO and CFO, Cohesive Networks. “It is an honor to represent the data security industry, share security best practices, and help the country be prepared for threats to our national infrastructure and public safety.”
At Cohesive Networks, Mr. Koop was part of the team that successfully spun out RabbitMQ to VMware. Today he takes on many of the security compliance projects for Cohesive Networks customers, including his work on the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. He's authored the NIST Cybersecurity Framework white paper, and recently presented at CircleCityCon. Dwight is also a member of the Chicago Secret Service Electronic Crimes TaskForce.
